The short version: InBitcoin does not collect, store, or share any personal data. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking.
Information We Collect
InBitcoin does not collect any personal information. Specifically:
- No user accounts or sign-in of any kind
- No names, email addresses, or contact details
- No device identifiers or advertising IDs
- No analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking SDKs
- No cookies, fingerprinting, or similar technologies
The only data the app works with are publicly available financial prices (Bitcoin, stocks, commodities, and currencies) fetched from third-party APIs.
How We Use Information
Because we do not collect personal information, there is nothing to use, sell, or share. All app functionality runs entirely on your device.
- Favorites — Your favorited assets are saved in the app's local storage (UserDefaults) on your device. This data is never transmitted anywhere.
- Widget data — If you use the home screen widget, configuration and cached prices are stored in a local App Group shared container on your device. This data never leaves your device.
Third-Party Services
To display up-to-date prices, the app makes HTTPS requests to the following third-party data providers:
- Yahoo Finance — Stock, crypto, and commodity price data
Yahoo Privacy Policy - Frankfurter — Foreign exchange rates
Frankfurter API
These requests are standard HTTPS calls that transmit only the price query itself. No personal data is included in these requests. However, as with any internet request, your IP address is visible to the receiving server. This is inherent to how the internet works and is not something the app controls. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services.
Data Storage
All data stored by InBitcoin resides exclusively on your device:
- Preferences and favorites are stored in iOS UserDefaults.
- Widget data is stored in a local App Group shared container.
- No data is stored on external servers owned or operated by us.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
Children's Privacy
InBitcoin does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app contains no user-generated content, social features, or in-app purchases.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Because the app collects no personal data, meaningful changes are unlikely. If the app's data practices ever change significantly, we will provide notice through an app update.
